SK Sigma Olomouc U18 footballers stumbled for the first time. In the match of the 9th round of the Moravian-Silesian senior youth league in Karviná, Šimon Příkazský tied the score at 1:1 in the first half. They were a balanced opponent for the home team throughout the match, but in the end, the home team decided the duel in their favor after a penalty.
The 18th team played in Karviná without reinforcements from the 19th team, which simultaneously played its duel in Opava. On the pitch of one of the aspirants for promotion to the national Karviné league, the Olomouc youngsters played a good duel.
Unfortunately, they didn’t start the match well when, in the 7th minute, home player Danjuma hit a shot from eighteen meters. Sigma did not lay down its weapons, it dealt well with the combination play of the home team and in the 39th minute, after a one-touch action from Rozehnal through Sikora, Šimon Příkazský scored a beautiful volley and equalized at 1:1.
In the second part, Karviná was stronger on the ball, but Sigma guarded the defense and did not let the home team have chances. The Hanáci also had breaks, but they did not manage to solve them well in the final phase. Nevertheless, the visitors were close to victory when, after a foul on Luka Rozehnala, David Lorenc kicked a penalty, but unfortunately he missed. In the end, the home team managed to rebound the ball after the standard and Chukwuki decided. Sigma U18 lost 0:1 in Karviná.
On Wednesday 2.10. Sigma U18 is playing the play-off of the 7th round on the Znojmo field. The match starts at 13:30.
Evaluation of coach Petr Kobylík:
“From my point of view, it was a balanced match, played at a high pace. We played from a lower block, we managed to win the ball. The opponent had several foreigners in the team, who were individually very well equipped for football, and they had a very good handle on one-on-one duels. However, we eliminated it well. Unfortunately, we conceded after the set piece, but we managed to equalize before the break. In the second half, the home team was stronger on the ball, but we didn’t let them have any chances. We didn’t do well in the final phase in front, yet we were close to the lead, unfortunately we didn’t give a penalty and in the end the home team managed to take advantage of our mistake in defending the standard, when the player was not in the place where he should have guarded the rebound and Karviná took advantage of it. It was an excellent match, at least we deserved a point, as a team it was a very good match, especially in defense.”
