The photo competition “Distance” organized in honor of LR6 – the 18th birthday of the University of Latvia “Radio Naba” has ended. The 18 best works that will be awarded will be displayed in the traveling photo exhibition “18×18”, as well as participate in the public vote on the public media portal LSM.lv.

The exhibition will feature 18 photographs by: Agnese Pastare, Anete Aramina, Dace Umblija, Daniela Gailīte, Dzintra Žvagiņa, Eva Elizabete Vīksna, Ēva Krēsla, Ģirts Dreimanis, junjala, Janels Katlaps, Jūlija Burilova, Kristūne Matvejman, Laila Mvejite, Laila Mvejite , Polina Vitkovska, Sandris Saulitis, Sarmite Bogdanovich, Zahars Subotins.

You can vote for your favorite until December 6 at 11:59 p.m. You can vote for your favorite once a day by logging in with your social media profile or email. The winner of the LSM.lv vote will be announced on December 7.

The interpretation of the competition theme “Distance”, as usual, opened wide possibilities.The competition jury – Kristaps Kalns, Toms Grīnbergs, Madars Štramdiers, Arnis Balčus, Didzis Grodzs, Sabīne Moore – evaluated the works according to their artistic and technical quality, ideas and compliance with the creative theme of the competition. .

In total, authors from all over Latvia participated in the competition with 235 works.

Due to the state of emergency in the country, a public award ceremony will not be organized and the winners will be congratulated individually. The traveling photo exhibition “18×18” will start its journey at the beginning of next year at “Gallery Center”, Audeju street 16.

The next stopping points of the exhibition in 2021 will be at the Culture Palace “Ziemeļblāzma” and the University of Latvia, while in the summer, from August 6 to 8, at the festival “Good Nature 2021”.

The photo competition and exhibition organized by “Radio Naba” has been taking place since 2007. This year’s exhibition partners are the University of Latvia, “Galerija Centrs”, publishing house “Neputns”, magazine “Fotokvartāls”, culture castle “Ziemeļblāzma”, public media portal LSM.lv and the international music and art festival “Laba daba”.
