A 17-year-old girl went missing from Perumatura last Monday

Thiruvananthapuram: A gang including a young woman has been arrested for kidnapping a 17-year-old girl with the promise of marriage. Taufiq (24), Afsal (19) and Sulfat (22) from Perumatura were arrested at Cheraman Thurut shop. A 17-year-old girl went missing from Perumatura last Monday. The accused was arrested in Tirur during an investigation which was conducted after the family lodged a complaint with the Kurinkulam police.
The details are as follows
Following the family’s complaint that the child was missing, an investigation was conducted by the Kumankulam police and it was found that the child was kidnapped. The girl who was taken from Perumatura to Chirainkeez was taken to Tirur by train. When they found out that they had reached Tirur by train, the Kurinkulam police started an investigation with the help of the Tirur police. When the gang realized that the police were following them, they were arrested on the way to another train with the child. The investigation conducted by the police registered a case against the accused, including kidnapping, and it was found that the girl had been molested in the past. A POCSO case was also registered against the accused. The accused who was produced in Attingal court was arrested.
