A super yacht today at anchor in Sanremo. Stopped in front of the city of flowers ‘A’, also known as ‘Sailing Yacht A’, a boat of great design and technologically advanced.
It is 142.8 meters long for over 12,600 tons of tonnage, has a 90 meter mast and the emerged part is as high as an 8-storey building. It was designed by Philippe Stark and cost 425 million euros.
It has a variable speed hybrid powertrain, with two variable pitch propellers assisted by a three-mast sail. It has rotating masts, which are self-supporting and made of carbon fiber, as well as the three fully automated sails. ‘A’ also has an underwater observation capsule in the glass keel and is the largest private power assisted sailing yacht in the world.
It is obviously not known whether the boat will remain in front of the city of flowers even tonight, or if it will set sail already this evening.
