At CES, Nvidia promised GeForce RTX 3050 on January 27, to be heard about the GeForce RTX 3090 at the end of January, but not a word was said about the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB. Nevertheless, according to available sources, it will appear first – it will probably be listed tomorrow, January 11. In addition to why it was not presented at CES, the meaning of the card remains unclear. The 12GB version of the GeForce RTX 3080 was introduced by Nvidia in the first half of the year under the name GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. According to the available data, the novelty 1: 1 copies its memory configuration (384bit bus, 12GB 19GHz GDDR6X with a throughput of 912 GB / s) as well as the number of ROPs. However, the configuration of the computing core remains closer to the original model, compared to which 2.9% of stream processors and texturing units differ. It is not yet known whether the 12GB version will serve as a replacement for the existing 10GB, or Nvidia will keep both (or all three) on the market.

The TDP will be set somewhere between 320 and 350 watts, the official price somewhere between $ 699 and $ 1199. Probably around $ 1000. However, this is only a formal figure, GeForce prices are currently not even close to MSRP and do not differ by tens of percent, but in multiples. The GeForce RTX 3080 on Amazon currently starts at $ 2,000, with the Founders Edition at $ 2,500. Thus, it can be said that the cards are available starting at three times the MSRP value. However, the “Ti” version is not much more expensive (on average about $ 400-500 corresponding to the MSRP difference), so the final dollar price of the news can be expected somewhere around $ 2200-2300.
