In the title of the exhibition From Alexander to Chuck includes the whole idea of the exhibition – it is a way of life from the birth of a person, when he was given the name Alexander, until he comes to the word “Chuck”.
The introduction of the exposition is decorated with a portrait of A. Chuck, newly created for this exhibition by A. Brak, with five eyes, which symbolizes the poet’s special talent and diverse vision of things, events, everyday details, connecting it with five elements – earth, water, fire, air and spirit.
The layout of the exhibition is designed as important stops – addresses of A. Čaka, reflecting the most important events of the poet in his creative work, as well as in everyday life, thoughts and personal experiences. In total, these are eight stopping points. These stories consist of photographs, A. Čaka’s manuscripts and various objects belonging to them, moreover, each of these stages is complemented by a corresponding song.
Set designer and artist Kristians Brekte has created the layout of the exhibition in a lively and diverse way, just as A. Chuck himself has been in his work and personality, paying great attention to his visual image. “As such a medium, I want to take the viewer through the material world to the world of Chuck’s letters. women ‘s lipsticks, wooden spoons, mom’ s embroidery… “says K. The exhibition will provide an opportunity to get to know not only the poet’s life, but also the most important personalities in his life – father Jānis Čadarainis, mother Emilija Lizeta Čadarainis, wife Anna Elizabeth Eriks Bērziņš and others.
During the exhibition, visitors are invited to listen to a selection of the most beautiful songs created especially for this exhibition with the words of A. Čaka Čakify, as well as leisurely to watch the rich video material, which will be of interest to both large and small guests of the exhibition, as both museum, archive video materials and cartoons have been used Myth Of 1976 My paradise (1989) and other educational films about A. The exhibition will also feature the 2021 Contemporary Culture Forum White night exhibited environmental installation Chuck’s imaginary space. The author of the installation, artist Anna Heinrihsone, suggests thinking about the place where A. Čaks might have worked – like the moment before the poet ran out of the room. The visual scene is highlighted and complemented by a seven-minute sound composition specially created and composed by composer Kārlis Auzāns, but the voice of the recording belongs to the actress Ilze Pukinska.
In order to create an additional edge for the exhibition exposition and to stimulate the new generation’s interest in the poet, his legacy and its future research, on October 14 and 21, as well as on November 4, 11 and 18 at At 6 pm, five literary evenings will be organized Meeting in Alexander Chuck’s living room.
