We are soon approaching the third week of sales on Amazon, and the pace continues to be high. The number one merchant in France has just announced a new series of promotions on Monday. Still, you can do great business by saving up to 80% off the original price. During the sales, Amazon goes the extra mile and thus allows everyone to access products at a lower cost.
Amazon saved the sales
At first, the sales were designed to sell stocks of clothes that are not sold. The government allowed merchants to sell “exceptionally” at a loss in order to sell their merchandise. Even today, the sales (summer and winter) are the only time when merchants are allowed to sell at a loss. Outside of these periods, it is a heavily sanctioned anti-competitive practice.
It is for this reason that during the sales, Amazon offers really very low prices. The prices displayed are lower than any other time of the year. In other words, even during the famous Black Friday or Prime Day, the prices are not that low. If for the last summer’s edition, Prime Day fell during the sales, Amazon was forced to postpone it this year.
During the sales, Amazon is keen to boost its sales. During confinement, he was forced to close part of his warehouses. This penalized a good part of his volumes, and he therefore wants to make up for the summer sales. In addition, the famous Prime Day which always took place in July has been postponed. However, no future date has yet been given for this event.
Faced with this profound change, Amazon is taking advantage of the sales to compensate. It is for this reason that he makes a very special effort on promotions. Very clearly, it is once again him who stands out against Cdiscount, Fnac, Boulanger or Darty. That said, the latter do not have to be ashamed and also offer some nice nuggets. However, they did not announce any new deals on Monday.

What to choose during these sales?
During the sales on Amazon, you should not be destabilized. With tens of thousands of discounts, it’s hard to get by. Always buy only what is really useful. During periods of strong promotions, we tend to buy unnecessary products on impulse. Fortunately, Amazon offers a 30-day period during which you can return your purchases and get a full refund. This is a good way to avoid impulse buying.
That said, during the sales, Amazon helps you do real business. This concerns all categories, even if some are particularly highlighted on Amazon. For example, electronics (high-tech) are well represented on the American e-commerce site. High-end brands like Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, Sony and even Huawei and Xiaomi are well represented.
The most recent products are highlighted for sale on Amazon. For example, we see the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro being reduced. On some models you can save up to 10% off the original price. If this may seem weak, we are happy to remind you that Apple never really promotes on its site (or in its stores). It is therefore a unique way to save between 100 and 200 € on these smartphones.
It is the same principle on the latest Samsung Galaxy S20, Huawei P30 Pro or the Redmi Note 9 Pro. All these devices that have been released in the last year (or even the last few months) are in strong discounts for sales on Amazon. It is the only online merchant in France to offer discounts on such popular products. While historically shy on sales, Amazon is hitting hard this year. It hurts the competition.
The sales, a “golden” chance
For this special summer edition, sales on Amazon will only last 4 weeks. We must therefore hurry before seeing the operation end. Since the start of the event, there have already been multiple shortages of stock on a lot of references.
