Lille in its best light with the 10 most beautiful photos of the city spotted on Instagram in 2020. (© JB / Lille news)
Lille is beautiful, we know it. This year 2020, the igerslille Instagram community every day shared his best photos of monuments and places in Lille. We have selected from these pictures the 10 most beautiful images (in our eyes, it is therefore totally subjective) taken this year in our beautiful city of Lille.
The 10 most beautiful photos of Lille in 2020
Founded in 2012, igerslille is dedicated to highlighting Lille, but also the entire region. For this, the two “manigers” of the account, Giovanna-Paola (@gipive) and Franck (@concept_photo_franck) spend hours browsing the dozens of pictures posted every day with the hashtag #igerslille. A painstaking job since, since its creation, more than 445,000 photos have been published. Every day, igerslille selects a photo highlighting Lille or the region.
We have searched the account to offer you the 10 most beautiful pictures of the city taken in 2020. You can also find Lille news on Instagram.
The theater square
A beautiful sunset giving a pretty pink light, the magnificent Lille opera house and here is a magnificent image of Lille! A photo posted by @ florian.yunquera.
Rooftop view
Another magnificent pink sky over Lille and above all a rare view from the rooftops of the Euralille district. We owe this daring shot to @nablezon.
The Wault quay and its reflections
The Quai du Wault is a place very popular with Lille residents. Here it is immortalized with a beautiful composition, geometric and all in reflections. We owe it to @alainvandevillephotographe.
Inside the Treille
Our Notre-Dame de la Treille cathedral may not be the most impressive in France, but it also has its charms. Here, a nice set of reflections inside the building proposed by @arnaudvanmullen.
Winter atmosphere
A beautiful winter atmosphere that makes you want to curl up under a plaid with the Napoleon bridge, well known to runners of the Citadel, covered with a white coat. A moment immortalized by @abinelphotography.
The Overhung Goddess
We take a detour via the unmissable Grand Place in Lille with a breathtaking view of the Goddess. We are more used to looking at it from below, but thanks to @benjaminclipet, we are the ones who fleece it exceptionally.
Why not ?
Those who know Lille will have recognized these round windows, those of the Hotel Why, a stone’s throw from the Grand Place. A particular building, with its detractors and admirers, meticulously framed by @romaincosta_.
The narrow yellow facade behind the Treille
The people of Lille also know this very narrow facade which is behind the cathedral. Wrongly considered to be the smallest house in Lille, it is in fact a passage to a building located on the Place du Lion d’Or. We owe this shot to @ miguel.pasquet.
The Porte de Paris
From the belfry of the town hall, there is a breathtaking view of the Porte de Paris. If on top of that you get good light, then it’s a pleasure for photographers. In this shot taken by @freddythor, it almost looks like the clouds in the background are a mountain ridge.
The sky prisoner of the Vieille Bourse
Another must-see in Lille, the Vieille Bourse is always a delight for photographers. In this photo by @fabseye, it looks like the sky and its clouds are trapped in the net that protects the building.
To appear on the igerslille page, you must post a photo with the hashtag #igerslille and a mention @igerslille. The photo must obviously have as subject Lille or the region: monument, landscape, atypical detail, character… Take your pictures in 2021!
