We are halfway through the year and so it is time to both look back and look forward. This week we look at all the cool games that will be released this year. These are the 10 coolest games that will be released this year, unless they are all postponed.
Ghost of Tsushima (17 juli)
The game has already been affectionately dubbed ‘Assassin’s Creed Tsushima’, and there is nothing wrong with that at all. The game looks very good and in addition to the impressive graphics, there is also gameplay that lets you do what you want. It is a game that I am eagerly waiting for!
Marvel’s Avengers (4 september)
Which The Avengers being hot is not so crazy, Endgame is a fantastic movie and just about every gamer who has a little bit of superheroes will keep an eye on this game. The game adopts an online MMORPG formula and will most likely be great. Just imagine that you and your game buddies form a team of Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk.
Cyberpunk 2077 (19 november)
I do remember that a teaser from years ago Cyberpunk 2077 came out and I was immediately impressed. A futuristic setting with cops on a beautiful cyborg lady with badass swords from her forearms! That is almost as cool as the robot dinosaurs Horizon Zero Dawn brought with it! The game has now been postponed for the second time, but if that leads to a perfect end product, then that’s not so bad!
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (2020)
It’s no secret that I have a soft spot for it Assassin’s Creed have, and also Valhalla is going to get the necessary attention from me again. If this new AC even looks a little like Odyssey then I am already sold. As a taster I am Vikings already go and look forward to it!
Marvel’s Iron Man VR (3 juli)
VR is made for experiences like this. There is no need to say more about it, but I do! Just like with Marvel’s Avengers this is a dream for any fan of anything superhero related. Especially in a VR setting in which you have the experience yourself. You don’t play it, you experience it! (I sincerely hope, but we don’t have to wait long!)
Paper Mario: The Origami King (17 juli)
Hardly any list of anticipated games is complete without a upcoming Nintendo game. Paper Mario was fantastic, and The Origami King probably will not be inferior to that. We’ll know in a few weeks!
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 (4 september)
It is not often that there is a remake in a list of games that we look forward to, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is not a crazy exception to that at all. The original games are from 1999 and 2000 and have an indelible impression on me as a gamer, music lover and skateboarder (at the time and I was very proud when I accidentally landed an ollie, but I thought I was a real skateboarder!). I only played the games later, but I am very happy that I can play them again on my current console!
Biomutant (2020)
We almost forgot that this game existed, but recently they made themselves heard again with new gameplay. It looks exactly like this if we all hoped and that is highly targeted. In the game you can make your beast the way you want, and you will have to fight against multiple monsters. The comparison with Destiny in Breath of the Wild has fallen several times ..
Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020)
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be an addition to Marvel’s Spider-Man in the style and large of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. That is not a full game, but large enough to keep us sweet with the PlayStation 5. One of the best points of Spider-Man was swinging, and that alone is enough to keep me sweet!
Session (2020)
Session is such a game that has remained well under the radar, but certainly no less cool! It is a skateboard game that will only be released on PC for now, but it is a project by gamers who are big fans of both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater as Skate to be. Such a passion project often produces very cool games!
