Thorsten Falke is stressed. Everything is different for the commissioner from the north played by Wotan Wilke Möhring. Not only that his colleague Julia Grosz (Franziska Weisz) is not investigating at his side, no: the case is also unusual. He is assigned a delicate task with the strictest discretion: 17-year-old Juan Mendez has disappeared from an elite boarding school. His father is a questionable despot who became famous for arresting and torturing opposition figures and journalists – and now Falke of all people is supposed to find Juan.
Whoever is targeted directly when looking for the fine scion is the girlfriend. Although Hanna claims to know nothing and to harbor grave fears about how her boyfriend could be doing, she behaves suspiciously. Why else is she throwing Juan’s clothes in the water? This is cleared up quickly and the story about an alleged kidnapping takes a surprising turn, only: who is playing this ambiguous, mysterious role?

The actress Valerie Stoll is a little older in real life: And yet at the age of 23 she has been able to draw attention to herself a few times. Maybe even so much that the face raises the question of where the young woman is from.
In addition to minor supporting roles in television films such as “Wo kein Schattenfallen” or “Wir Liebe das Leben” (We Love Life), she also played in Philipp Kadelbach’s “Parfum” miniseries. She was also seen alongside Jan Josef Liefers in a larger role: that was in the ZDF drama “Vernau – Totengebet” in 2019.

What is striking: This was mainly followed by episodic roles. From various local “SOKO” operations to “Helen Dorn” or “Die Chefin” to “Notruf Hafen Kante” she was a permanent guest on German series television – but there was no big breakthrough. Until then, last year, a role followed that should have made her known to a wide audience.
In the celebrated six-part drama “Eldorado KaDeWe – Now is our time”, Stoll played the leading role of the young KaDeWe saleswoman Hedi Kron in the first. With her use now in the “crime scene” the next top-class player joins her vita – and maybe the TV audience will have to get used to her slowly.
