On site, the young star then decided to change. At the beginning of the year it became official: The US boy from New York City FC was bought for 1.8 million euros. Both the club and the players were very pleased: “Being able to play in Germany is a big dream, so I couldn’t be happier,” said the newcomer about the events at the time.

Patience pays off

As is so often the case in life, this saying also applied to the right footer. In the past season he was only on the field for the reserve of the former German champions in the Regionalliga West. But the defensive player was quickly able to make a name for himself and convince his bosses of his playing qualities. As a thank you there was the professional debut in the game against Bayern on August 13th. In the following eight games he was able to defend his regular place in his position against competitors and even score a goal.
