The son of Norway’s crown princess will have to compensate for the damage he caused.
The son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Höby, 27, is accused of assaulting and causing damage to a woman in her twenties. The woman, later confirmed as an ex-girlfriend, was taken to hospital after the incident.
The incident took place on August 4 in a private apartment in Oslo. During the incident, Marius destroyed the apartment’s furniture and property. Among other things, he tore a crystal chandelier from the ceiling, hit a kitchen knife on the wall and broke a mirror on the wall.
Marius has admitted his guilt to both damage and assault. He has justified that he was drunk and under the influence of cocaine at the time of the acts.

According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, the price tag for destroying the apartment is now public.
Norway’s TV2 reports that the bill for destroying the apartment is NOK 30,000, i.e. EUR 2,580. The bill consists of repair costs for damages caused by Marius, cleaning. In addition, the bill includes a refund for the apartment’s new tenants who were unable to move into the apartment in time.
Marius’ lawyer says that Marius has accepted the compensation claim.
Marius was arrested the last time on September 14, because the police believed that he had violated the restraining order imposed on him.
Marius’ mother, or Crown Princess Mette-Marit, and her spouse, Crown Prince Haakon, have received criticism for their minor comments. Mette-Marit commented in mid-September that she does not want to comment on the matter right now.
