The number of people who have been arrested for being linked to acts of corruption increased to 51 that were uncovered a few days ago in the country, as reported this Wednesday by the Attorney General of the Nicolás Maduro administration, Tarek William Saabin a press conference.
It also indicated that these people were placed under the order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and are being specifically investigated by the cases of PDVSA-Crypto, in the case of CVGin addition to Thursday and other officials who have also been linked to them.
“To date, there are 51 people deprived of their liberty for the various corruption schemes, including that of PDVSA-crypto, which joins that of CVG, the detained judges. Obviously the former mayor of Las Tejerías. When we add all this up, the figure reaches 51 people who placed themselves outside the law.Saab said.
He also specified that so far the Public Ministry is conducting the pertinent investigations related to 31 corruption schemes within the PDVSA industry.
As regards the PDVSA-Cryto case, he stated that 34 people are being prosecuted.
William Saab assured that only in the state oil company there are 262 people who are being prosecuted for corruption crimes.
