“Thatched Farmhouse in Boxtel Ravaged by Large Fire: All Escaped Unharmed”

A large fire raged in a farmhouse in Boxtel on Wednesday evening. The thatched roof of the house on Mile Street was on fire. According to a spokesman for the fire service, everyone was able to flee in time and no one was injured.

A dog that was still inside when the fire broke out was rescued in time, the fire service said.

The fire raged in a split farmhouse that consists of two homes. The fire brigade turned out with large equipment. A special team, which specializes in fighting fires in thatched roofs, helped put out the fire. The damage to both homes is extensive.

The first report of the fire came in on Wednesday evening around ten to eight. The first reports spoke of a chimney fire.

The Mile Street, in the outskirts of Boxtel, was closed off.
