Guwahati: In the IPL, the battle between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings had many breathtaking performances. There were Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan, who brought out his age-defying fighting spirit, Prabhsimran Singh, who gave Punjab a punchy start, Sanju Samson, who fought from the front for Rajasthan, and Shimron Hetmeyer, who lit the fireworks, but it was another star who stole the hearts of the fans.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s replacement as Rajasthan’s impact player was Dhruv Jurrell’s performance. Dhruv, who came to the crease after Devdut Patikal’s dismissal, initially tried to give Hetmyer a strike. But with Rajasthan’s target of 54 runs in the last three overs, Hetmyer and Jurrell joined in with the breakthroughs.
Arshdeep Singh scored 18 runs in the 19th over bowled by Hetmeyer and Jurel who scored 19 runs in the 18th over. Ian Bishop and Chris Morris, who were in the commentary box, couldn’t contain their joy after seeing Arshdeep’s third ball over extra cover for Jurrell’s six.

What a shot this was, an impact shot by an impact player, Ian Bishop was shouting ‘amazing, amazing’ while former South African player Chris Morris, who was with him in the commentary box, said that Jurrell’s shot over the covers was the best shot he had seen in today’s match. Morris said that even Virat Kohli must have been jealous of that shot over the cover. Jurrell could also be seen punching after that six.
Rajasthan needed 16 runs to win in the last over, but Hetmeier was run out in the third ball trying to get the second run. Jurrell hit a boundary in the last ball but could not avoid Rajasthan’s defeat.
