That is why so few Indians die from the corona virus

In March, there were fears that the coronavirus would wreak havoc in densely populated India. And although there are nowhere so many infections outside the US, there is a big difference: far fewer people die from the disease. According to a new study, Indians are more resistant to corona.<!– –>

The reason for that big difference is none to copy. It has to do with the poor living conditions of many Indians, such as dirty drinking water, unhygienic food and polluted air. It is said to have boosted the immune systems of people in India, making them more resistant to viruses.

Ancient Indians have strong immune systems

Indian scientists compared the public data from more than a hundred countries and concluded that the death rate is higher in countries with good health conditions than in countries with worse hygiene conditions. “In India there are many infectious diseases, so when you get old as an Indian you can conclude that you have a very good immune system.”<!– –>

Population composition

There is another factor contributing to the low percentage of deaths. For example, the composition of the population in India looks fundamentally different from that in Belgium. There are fewer elderly people and fewer obese people, the two groups most at risk from infection.
