The Mainz team did not fill two of the ten weight classes (up to 61 kilos freestyle and up to 66 kilos Greco-Roman). So eight team points went to Thaleischweiler without a fight. The other twelve points resulted from three shoulder victories. In the 75 kg Greco-Roman class, Fabian Schneller shouldered Mainz’s Danny Cub at 11:9 after 4:19 minutes, Amin Shahzad (71 kg freestyle) flattened Alireza Sediqi after just 1:01 minute. Aebi Abduev (98 kg Greco-Roman) achieved the third shoulder victory against Amine Toufali with a score of 13:11 after 3:49 minutes.
Moved up one place
“For me, we showed our strongest performance of the season today. Everyone gave everything for the team. I’m proud of the boys,” enthused ACT trainer Andreas Kiefer. In the league table, his team moved up to second-to-last place with 4:16 points. It now looks like this at the front: Hakenheim (18:2) leads ahead of its next-but-one opponent, Mainz II, and VfK 07 Schifferstadt (14:4 each).
Next Saturday, 7.30 p.m., the WKG Metternich/Rübenach/Boden will be a guest in the athletes’ hall. Beforehand (from 5.30 p.m.) the top battle of the student round takes place in the athletes’ hall between table leader Thaleischweiler and second place from Haßloch.
