There are different types of aloe in the world, but the best known is aloe vera. It is known for its many benefits on the health and well-being of the body. Usually the summer, when you get burned in the sun, one of the tips that is given is to apply a little aloe vera on the sunburn. In fact, cutting an aloe vera leaf will find the gel inside. This will have a refreshing and soothing action.
In addition to being useful in the summer, aloe vera would be important due to many benefits for human health:
- it is detoxifying: it purifies the body thanks to the presence of vitamins and mineral salts inside and would be able to eliminate toxins;
- it would be digestive: it improves the absorption of nutrients in the intestine;
- it would increase the energy;
- contains essential amino acids.

Aloe vera appears to have benefits in regards to digestive activity. The gel contained within the leaves is the healthiest part of the plant. The anti-inflammatory fatty acids that are contained in the leaves may be helpful in balancing stomach acid by counteracting reflux. In fact, it is rich in mucilages that create a real protective layer for the gastric mucosa, avoiding inflammation. It would therefore be indicated in case of ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux, acidity, burning, heaviness and abdominal swelling. It could be also useful in cases of constipation. In fact, its intake seems to be related to the reduction of inflammation of the colon, favoring an easier descent of the faeces, softening them.
Recommended doses
Obviously, the intake of aloe vera also has recommended doses, which are always different from person to person. In general, it is recommended to take aloe juice on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before a meal. The doses range from 20 ml to 60 ml per day, on average it is recommended to consume 40 ml of juice. The doses also vary according to the brand of the product purchased and the nutritional values it presents. Therefore, thanks to aloe vera intestinal problems could be reduced, as long as the recommended doses are not exceeded. It has an irritating action that could lead to the formation of ulcers on the intestinal mucosa. For this reason it is recommended to dilute the juice with a little water.
