Around 50,000 fans waited for hours in the Place de la Concorde in Paris for the French national team to return from Qatar in the winter cold.
The stars around Kylian Mbappé and captain Hugo Joris were expected at 20:30, but the bus with the team only reached the center of the capital around 21:15 on Monday evening, after landing at Roissy Charles de Gaulle.
The players didn’t swim in the crowd, but took a bus to a luxury hotel and waved to those waiting on the balcony. Some fans were a bit disappointed because they couldn’t see their idols well like this.
“Les Bleus”, the previous world champions from France, lost the historic final against Argentina around world star Lionel Messi on penalties at the World Cup in Qatar on Sunday, December 18th.
Ironically: An advertising poster of the luxury brand with PSG players Lionel Messi and Neymar could be seen on the Place de la Concorde in Paris. The capital club is owned by Qatar.
