Today it’s Sunday. A weekly day of rest, which we observe on Sundays, is a dedication and gift from God. We dedicate this day especially to the service of God. In addition, for Christians, Sunday is also a weekly echo of Easter Sunday, on which Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Reasons for us not to update our site today.
Tomorrow we would like to inform you about the daily events again, with background information, commentary and opinion articles. As you are used to from us.
Word on Sunday
Suffering time (7)
“And those passing by blasphemed Him …”
Mattheus 27:39
While the Lord Jesus is hanging on the cross, He is blasphemed by the passers-by. They do not kneel at the cross, but they call on Jesus to come down from the cross in order to ‘prove’ that He is God’s Son. He has redeemed others, they say, but he cannot redeem himself.
They don’t realize how true what they say is. With one word of difference. For He can redeem Himself, but He does not want to. How else could God’s wrath ever pass away on all who believe in Him?
