MotoGP once again gave his appreciation to Roro Istiati who became the rain handler in the event MotoGP MandalikaSunday (20/3).
This appreciation was given by MotoGP by uploading the ritual of the woman who is familiarly called Rara when she was asked to help ease the rain so that the Mandalika GP could take place. The start of the second series in the 2022 MotoGP calendar was delayed by an hour and 15 minutes.
Rara’s ritual of calming the rain even went viral and became a conversation on social media. The Yamaha racer, Fabio Quartararo, also imitated Rara’s actions while in the team’s paddock.
“Thank you for stopping the rain!” wrote the official MotoGP Instagram account on Monday (21/3) early morning WIB.
Previously, the MotoGP team had also uploaded Rara’s action while calming the rain at the Mandalika Circuit. The performance of the Papua-born woman was also recognized by MotoGP.
In the action, Rara was seen using a gold bowl and stirrer. While twirling and beating the stirrer on the golden bowl, he also said a prayer to calm the rain.
“Succeed!” wrote MotoGP on their twitter account after previously uploading a video of Rara.
Rara is a Javanese -blooded kejawen believer who lives in Bali. He has been learning to be a magician since he was nine years old.
