Winterswijk local police officer Willem Saris shared the remarkable story on Twitter on Friday afternoon. He added a photo of the heavily damaged front door. ‘Damage is being settled’, he added to be on the safe side.

“We received a report from a lady who did not enter her house, while her roommate simply had to be at home,” Saris said a few hours after the incident. “We called and thumped, but there was no response.” To be sure, the mother of the roommate was also called, but she also got no contact. It was feared that something had happened to the inmate. “That is why we eventually broke the door,” said the police officer.

When the police and the woman were in the hall of the house, the reporter looked around in amazement. “This is not my place at all!” She said. Then we stood there looking weird. ”

The Winterswijkse turned out to live in an apartment building further on. There she entered without any difficulty. There was nothing wrong with the inmate.

Everyone saw the humor of the misunderstanding, Saris emphasizes. Even the occupant of the building where the front door was smashed.
