An unexpected but very fascinating announcement at this year’s Gamescom is Thank goodness you’re here! , the latest project from Untitled Goose Game publisher Panic Inc.
The hand-drawn comedy title calling itself “Slappers” lets players explore and make their mark on the bizarre northern English town of Barnsworth.
The official description of the game revealed by Panic is as follows:
“After arriving early to meet the mayor of a strange northern English town, a traveling salesman takes the time to explore and meet locals, all eager to give him a series of increasingly odd jobs. … ..Thank goodness you’re here! is a comedy-drama that unfolds over time as the player’s exploration and antics leave their mark on the unfamiliar town of Barnsworth. Odd jobs, new areas of town open up, increasingly unfamiliar quests become available, the clock ticks, and our salesman’s big meeting. The town’s colorful residents communicate with each other through vibrant hand-drawn animations, fully voiced dialogue And the wall-to-wall puns come to life.
No exact release date has been confirmed, but the announcement is thank goodness you are here! Coming to Nintendo Switch, PC and PS5 in 2024.
