“Find me an opponent and let’s go” are not serious things. We are not an arena, we are partners, not rivals. Yes let’s go, and we will go, on the basis that the members talk about everything, but on the basis of political plans, not as opponents. We move forward with confidence in our members” said from the floor of the SYRIZA Congress Thanassis Theocharopoulos and added:
“Stefanos Kasselakis said in his speech that “they set deadlines for European elections, forgetting where the undermined ended up” Undermined? And Alexis Tsipras says “the winner is allegedly asking for a three-year blank check regardless of the outcome of the European elections, thus discounting the electoral failure and ignoring its consequences”. Is Alexis Tsipras also a subversive? Possible;”
“There must be respect for the institutions and the statute. Instruments are not decorative. And we cannot disrespect the constitution, because we are a democratic party” he argued, among other things.
Thanasis Theocharopoulos also sent a message of unity:
“Those of us here want a strong SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance. Our opponent is the ND, we are not rivals to each other, we are comrades” he said verbatim and once again expressed his belief that SYRIZA should express the Center-Left of the country….
