According to the police report, CPI(M) activists Poovanazhi Shemir and K Khalid of Netur Illikun were stabbed to death in protest of reporting the sale of ganja to the police. The accused also had enmity with Shemir’s son Shabeel for working against drug sales. This is what emerges from the report submitted to the Talasseri Court of First Instance.
On the morning of the incident, the vehicle of the second accused Jackson Vinson was checked by the Dharmadam police. After this, suspecting that it was Shabeel, Jackson joined the first accused Parai Babu and beat Shabeel. Saying they will discuss the matter later, Shemir, Khalid and Shanib were called from Thalassery Cooperative Hospital and assaulted. All three were stabbed by Parai Babu. Khalid died from a stab wound in the neck and shoulder, severing blood vessels and bleeding into internal organs. Shemir’s death was due to injuries to his lungs and spleen. Shanib was stabbed in the chest.
The knife is 25 cm long with a steel handle. The third accused and RSS member K Naveen and the sixth and seventh accused Arun Kumar and EK Sandeep were the ones who conspired, attacked and rescued the accused. The custody report also states that the defendants confessed.
Manorama and Mathrubhumi to save RSS man
