Thailand Weather Forecast: Heavy Rain in North, Northeast, and Eastern Regions – June 25, 2023

Thailand Braces for More Rain as Monsoon Season Arrives

Thailand is set to experience heavy rainfall in the coming days, particularly in the northern, northeastern, and eastern regions, including the capital city of Bangkok. The Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for June 25, 2023, predicting continuous rain for the next 24 hours.

The monsoon trough, which extends across the upper part of the North and upper Laos, is expected to enter a low-pressure cell in upper Vietnam. Additionally, the southwest monsoon is prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. These weather patterns are contributing to the increased rainfall in the country.

As a result, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning for 42 provinces to prepare for the monsoon season. Bangkok is expected to be hit particularly hard, with a 60% chance of thunderstorms and heavy rain.

The department has also provided a cumulative rain forecast for the next 10 days, from June 24 to July 3. This information will help residents and authorities prepare for potential flooding and other weather-related challenges.

For those planning to navigate the Andaman Sea, caution is advised as waves are expected to reach heights of 1 meter, with thunderstorm areas experiencing waves of 1-2 meters. Boatmen are urged to avoid sailing in areas prone to thunderstorms.
