Thailand plans to provide free vaccinations for inbound passengers and tour operators with booster shots of new crown vaccine|New Crown|Travel Industry|Entry_Sina News

In preparation for welcoming Chinese tourists, Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports intends to provide booster shots of the new corona vaccine so that inbound tourists and tour operators can receive free vaccinations.

According to Thailand’s “Bangkok Post” report on Dec. 29, Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Minister Pippa said it was a cost-effective investment to provide new crown booster shots for inbound tourists and tour operators, as the current price of the new corona vaccine has fallen, and each dose only needs to be paid Hundreds of baht.

He said that if a tourist spends an average of 40,000 baht (about 8,052 yuan) locally, including the 7 percent value-added tax charged by the government, its value will exceed the price of the vaccine.

Pippa said the Ministry of Tourism and Sports would discuss the feasibility of the proposal with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Ministry of Public Health.

If the plan is approved by the government, the funds will be allocated to the Ministry of Health for the purchase of the vaccine. Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports will also request the Ministry of Public Health to prepare new corona booster shots for tourism workers before the first batch of Chinese tourists arrive. Thailand is expected to welcome its first batch of Chinese tourists by the end of the first quarter of next year.

From January 8, 2023, China will no longer require people entering China to undergo nucleic acid testing and centralized isolation. People entering China only need to obtain negative test results within 48 hours before departure. At that time, China will also resume the process of applying for ordinary passports for Chinese citizens traveling overseas and visiting friends.
