Thailand Open results: Praveen / Melati failed to win

Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti failed to become a champion Yonex Yhailand Open 2021. Their dream was stopped by the Thai couple, Dechapol Puavaranuroh / Sapsiree through three gyms.

In the match that took place at Impact Arena, Sunday (17/1/2021), Praveen / Melati actually have a chance to become champion after successfully forcing a rubber game. But they have to acknowledge their opponent’s superiority and lose 3-21, 22-20, 18-21.

Praveen / Past did not start well. They fell behind behind the pair Thailand 0-3. Had reduced the distance to 1-3, Praveen / Melati fell behind again to 1-5. This second seed could not even develop his strategy until the first interval 3-11.

After the interval, Praveen / Melati grew less and less. They are further behind after losing nine straight points from Puavaranukroh / Terattanachai. The first game ended easily by Thailand with a score of 21-3.

Praveen/ Melati sped up in the second game. Coming from behind 0-1, they managed to match Thailand’s doubles 3-3. After that they started leaving Thailand at intervals of two 11-6.

Praveen / Melati was able to maintain the lead up to 15-10. But then Thailand managed to get three points in a row to make the difference between the two pairs of numbers to 15-13.

Praveen / Melati are then in a critical position after falling behind 18-19. However, after that they managed to equalize the points to 19-19 and lead 20-19 through Praveen’s ball which the Thai pair could not return.

A fierce game occurred after Thailand made a 20-20 deuce, before finally Praveen / Melati managed to secure a 22-20 second game victory.

Praveen / Melati could not show consistency in the third game. They fell behind 0-3 again, even at the last interval 7-11.

Not wanting to let Thailand continue to have the upper hand, Praveen / Melati won three points in a row to 10-11. They also managed to equalize the numbers 13-13 through a fast drive battle. But then they have to admit the opponent’s superiority. Praveen / Melati lost 18-21.
