Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office Revealed after the Cabinet meeting today that The meeting approved the draft results of the 20th Indian Ocean Association Council of Ministers meeting held on 17 December 2020 through a teleconference system. Hosted by the Arab Emirates The Indian Ocean Association has 22 members.
In this meeting The draft Emirates Statement will be adopted. This is a document showing the intention of the foreign ministers of the member countries to drive cooperation in the region. Which addresses important issues such as
1. Collaboration and unity in COVID-19 response And providing medical assistance and supporting regional efforts to tackle the epidemic.
2. Establish a new working group on science, technology and innovation and form a group to drive fisheries management.
3. Promote cooperation and coordination for search operations. And help in the Indian Ocean region
4. Add a branch of small and medium enterprises (SME), a new cooperation that plays an important role in facilitating trade and investment in the region.
