AFF U-23 Cup 2023 standings experienced a change after Thailand and Cambodia slaughtered their opponents in the first match of Group A, Thursday (17/8).
Thailand successfully started the inaugural match of the 2023 AFF U-23 Cup with a big win in front of their own supporters.
The War Elephant Team defeated Myanmar U-23 with a score of 3-0 in the inaugural Group A match of the 2023 AFF U-23 Cup at PTT Rayong Stadium, Thursday (17/8) evening WIB.
In this match, Thailand managed to open the scoring in the 10th minute through Chainarong’s goal.
Then, Thailand successfully doubled their advantage to 2-0 thanks to Wanpraphao’s goal in the 32nd minute.
Thailand ensured a 3-0 win over Myanmar thanks to Burapha’s penalty goal at the end of the second half.
This victory made Thailand ranked second in the Group A standings by picking up three points from one game.
While the top position of Group A is occupied by Cambodia after winning 5-0 over Brunei Darussalam in the first match, Thursday.
Meanwhile, the U-23 Indonesian National Team will have their first match in Group B against Malaysia in Rayong, Friday (18/8) evening WIB.
