good news! The Thai government confirmed that it will exempt tourists from India and Taiwan from next month until May next year, and the implementation date will be from November 10 this year to May 10, 2024.
After Thailand announced in September that it would be able to travel visa-free for Chinese tourists, according to “Reuters” reported that Chai Wacharonke, spokesperson of the Thai Prime Minister’s Office, announced today (31st) that “tourists from India and Taiwan can stay in Thailand for 30 days without a visa.” A Thai government official revealed that Thailand will exempt tourists from India and Taiwan from visas from next month to May next year.
Thailand hopes to have 28 million arrivals this year. As of October 29, there were 22 million tourists, generating revenue of 927.5 billion baht (approximately NT$833.2 billion). It hopes to revive the sluggish economy through tourism, and now it has announced exemptions for Taiwan and India. The visa policy is designed to attract more tourists with the arrival of the tourist season.
According to Thai media “THANSETTAKIJ” reported that Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin revealed today’s latest cabinet resolution, which approved a six-month visa-free policy for Taiwan and India, with the implementation period from November 10 this year to May 10, 2024.
