The Arbitration Board, which convened upon the objection of Galatasaray Club, announced that the penalty of Mauro Icardi, who was given a 1-match penalty by the PFDK, was approved by majority vote.
The Argentinian striker will not be able to play in the Antalyaspor match tonight.
The statement made on TFF’s official website is as follows:
“TFF Arbitration Board examined the file on its agenda at its meeting numbered (12) dated February 26, 2024 and made the following decision.
1. E.2024/124 – K.2024/109
Galatasaray A.Ş.’s objection to PFDK’s decision dated 26.02.2024 and numbered E.2023-2024/842 – K.2023-2024/1053 regarding Mauro Emanuel Icardi was examined. As a result of the negotiation;
– Galatasaray A.Ş. 41/1-a and 35/4 of the FDT due to football player Mauro Emanuel Icardi’s insult towards the fans of the rival team. With the partial acceptance of the objection against the ban from 1 official competition and the fine of 19,500.00 TL, imposed in accordance with the articles and by applying Article 12 of the FDT; Since it was understood that the proven violation was in the nature of an “Unsportsmanlike Conduct” violation regulated by Article 36 of the FDT, Articles 36 and 35/4 of the FDT. In accordance with the articles, he was punished with a ban from 2 official competitions and a fine of 39,000.00 TL, as it was understood that he committed his action under unfair provocation, as a result of the application of Article 12 of the FDT, the PFDK decision was corrected and approved in the form of a ban from 1 official competition and a fine of 19,500.00 TL, and one member The proof is made by the majority vote of two members against the determination of the penalty,
