MAINZ – The new exhibition in “Zweistelle”, Christiane Schauder’s temporary gallery at Fuststraße 2, shows new works by the Mainz artist Sandra Heinz, the former city printer of the state capital. Sandra Heinz studied art and theology and lives as an artist in Mainz. Scholarships took her to New Zealand, Peru, Brazil, France and Croatia. She was awarded the Mainz City Printer Prize for her experimental work in the field of material printing.

Sandra Heinz prints with worn clothing. Her interest lies in the form, structure and materiality of the material. The textiles are always memories of the individual, refer to people and are memories of a bygone era.
The exhibition “inner islands” shows above all new works that were created during the pandemic, supported by a project grant from the Rhineland-Palatinate Foundation for Culture. At a time when little contact with the outside world was possible, the gaze is focused and opens up to the discovery of hidden islands.
The exhibition opens on Wednesday, August 18, at 6.30 p.m. Sandra Heinz’s works can be viewed on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. until September 8th, and by appointment on the mobile number (0172) 6 12 07 66. (red.)
