Textbooks have not been approved

The National Council of Education was convened for this Wednesday, February 16, to meet, discuss and approve the bibliography of high school books, when the school year is approaching the middle of the cycle.

Students of all levels are taking classes without up-to-date textbooks and those of the initial, basic and primary levels are in the warehouses of the Ministry of Education since December of last year, when the publishing houses delivered them.

It was reported that they will be distributed after an act that the authorities will do on February 18, the date on which student day is celebrated.

The secondary textbooks were validated by the Minerd Curriculum Department, in a digital version, and the Council’s approval is required for them to be put out to tender.

In November of last year, the Vice Ministry of Technical and Pedagogical Services notified publishers that the reevaluation of high school books had concluded, and that the texts were approved for Santillana, SM, Mac Graw Hill, Cocolo Editorial, Alfa y Omega, Casa Duarte, United Editions of the Caribbean, Salomé Editions, School News, CP, Susaeta, Camart, DISESA.

The digital books must have an application that guarantees the security of the files, both for teachers and students, as well as blocking the edition, copying and printing of the file and deletion of the information contained therein.

They will be in a PDF file in a specific program and deliver the files in PDF format, so that they can be copied to each of the computers, as well as the application that each one will handle.

The files in PDF format must be executed on the digital whiteboards, which have an internal storage of 32 GB and each editor must deliver the texts on a device that can be a Netbook for students, tablets or laptops for teachers, in order to verify Its performance.

The device will be received under a code, containing the text in full digital form to verify its specifications.
