I have the experience that it is the other way around. Apple earphones sound very flat to me, but that’s because they don’t fit quite well and the fact that I use the older generations can also play a part (with the 4S and SE). Samsung ears have great sound and are quite sturdy, my pair even went twice in the washing machine and they still worked (they eventually broke due to a cable break at the volume control section). And they also fit much better if, like me, you have asymmetrical ears (different sizes and slightly different in shape). When I put them in with a lot of effort, the Apple earbuds sit properly so that the earbud doesn’t always fall out on one side, but it still doesn’t fit that well, making the sound seem duller / worse ????.
With average, symmetrical ears I understand that they fit well, but here Samsung easily wins in terms of sound for that reason .
Have been out for a few years now, completely crumpled, had to pull cable apart several times, but still no cable break. In terms of that, they do win, although I don’t know if they survive the washing machine.
The USB-C earphones from Samsung are less good than the 3.5mm, because that connector was bent after six months ????. I was able to fix these again and got a new pair, but this seems less common with 3.5mm or lightning.
It is also nice that if you buy a new phone, you also have earphones that fit in it. I was seriously thinking about buying the smallest 12 (I don’t really want to walk around with a tablet), but besides that the battery is way too small and I already think the missing of a headphone jack sws is bad (yes, that describes best in my opinion), should I also spend extra money on earphones because Apple decided not to include them anymore? Nice for the e-waste, but not nice for the people who have to buy everything extra and spend extra money. Give indd a code or similar as replacement vervanging.
And ordering those ears and sending them in a box is also bad for the environment ????
