Texas Supreme Court Case: Four Defendant States Have Not Handled Major Election Issues | Litigation | Supreme Court | Swing State

The four defendant states filed their defenses with the Supreme Court on December 10, requesting the Supreme Court to dismiss the Texas lawsuit. The Attorney General of Pennsylvania claimed that Texas had violated the principles of constitutional democracy; Wisconsin claimed that Texas could not accuse Wisconsin’s actions of directly harming Texas interests.

In Texas’s latest reply on December 11 (click here to view), the Texas Attorney General and other state prosecutors stated that, instead of taking seriously the serious election issues raised by Texas, the four defendant states attempted to use court decisions that Texas could not participate in to cover up and misinterpret the legal protection that Texas is seeking. Texas did not seek re-elections in its suit before the Supreme Court, nor did it seek to abolish voter voting.

The Texas lawsuit triggered a response from the attorneys general of 39 states, of which 18 states supported Texas and 20 states supported the defendant state.
