Several tornadoes touched down in northwest Texas Saturday afternoon amid strong thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for the Texas peninsula until 10 p.m. CST.
The National Weather Service warned Texans to stay indoors and seek shelter.
“Flying debris will be dangerous to those without shelter,” said the National Weather Service. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Roof, window and vehicle damage will occur. Trees are likely to be damaged. ‘

A tornado near Palo Duro Canyon, south of Amarillo, was unleashing winds of 80 to 85 miles per hour around 3:11 p.m.
