Austin (KXAN) – Oral rabies vaccine bait on the US-Mexico border is released once again in AD 27.

Rabies was transmitted by the dog / coyote variant in the program’s first year in 1995, Texas in 1994, resulting in 122 cases. By 2000, there were zero cases and since then there have been only two, both on the southern border. In 1996, the state launched a similar program in response to the spread of gray fox rabies.
It focuses on vaccinating migratory wildlife along the Texas border and preventing re-entry of squash species. Bats and skulls are common in the rabies state.
