Texas Governor Greg Abbott “declared war” on Biden, SK NEWS

The Lone Star State categorically refuses to comply with Washington’s demands to soften immigration policies, considering this “indulgence in drug trafficking,” transmits New York Post

Police and the Texas National Guard have begun rebuilding barbed wire fences that were previously dismantled by the Supreme Court. It is known that the US Supreme Court on January 22 ruled in favor of President Biden’s administration, allowing agents of the Federal Migration Service to destroy wire fences arbitrarily installed by Texas authorities along the border with Mexico.

We are talking about a section of the border with Mexico along the Rio Grande River, near the town of Eagle Pass, where one of the federally administered national parks is located. Tired of the endless flow of illegal migrants and the inaction of the feds, Texas authorities themselves installed barbed wire fences, sent the National Guard to the border and removed border control agents.

In December, a federal appeals court sided with Texas, blocking the feds from removing the razor wire. The US Department of Justice appealed to the Supreme Court, which examined the lawsuit urgently and supported Biden by five votes to four.

But last December, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a law that gave state authorities the right to arrest immigrants, making illegal immigration a crime.

Illegal immigrants in Texas began to be arrested and forcibly deported, taken to cities across America that are controlled by Democratic mayors and which in the United States are called “sanctuary cities” (liberal authorities refuse to cooperate with federal authorities on the capture and deportation of illegal immigrants, giving them shelter).

Since 2021, Texas has used its own money to erect more than 60 kilometers of border barriers along the busiest parts of the border with Mexico.

Yesterday, Governor Abbott refused to comply with the decision of the Supreme (Constitutional) Court of the United States.

“The executive branch of the United States government has a constitutional responsibility to enforce federal laws that protect the states, including immigration laws currently in effect. President Biden has refused to enforce these laws and has even violated them,” Greg Abbott said.

He has previously repeatedly accused Biden of wasting taxpayer money and granting migrants “mass parole.” Let us note that back in the summer of 2022, the state Republican Party adopted a special resolution in which it called the election of the current US President illegal, thereby sharing Trump’s position that the 2020 elections were rigged. Gregg Abott is a Republican.

“James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and other intellectuals who wrote the U.S. Constitution foresaw that states should not be left at the mercy of a lawless president who does nothing to protect the state from external threats such as cartels smuggling millions of illegal immigrants across the border.” – states the state governor.

In his opinionthe Founding Fathers gave each state the right to carry out the defense of its borders.

The US Department of Justice and Homeland Security are demanding that Governor Abbott allow federal border control agents to enter the border. Abbott and state Attorney General Paxton invoke the state’s right to self-defense, arguing that the number of illegal crossings from Mexico fell sharply in January amid the crackdown.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said he activated Article 1, Section 10, Section 3 of the US Constitution. It states that “if a State is under invasion, it has the right to enter into a state of martial law and act without regard to Congress or the government.”
A state can now bypass Biden by requesting assistance from other states or even foreign countries.

The parties have not yet resorted to using force. However, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (Republican) announced the dispatch of at least a hundred state National Guard troops to assist Governor Abbott. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican, is sending 800 National Guard troops and police officers to Texas.

“As federal policies fail, states are rising to the challenge of securing our southern border, reducing the flow of fentanyl, combating human trafficking, and addressing the humanitarian crisis,” states Glenn Youngkin. The last time Virginia’s governor deployed the National Guard outside state lines was Jan. 6, 2021, to help protect the U.S. Capitol from an assault by supporters of President Trump that the current White House is calling an attempted insurrection.

“What is happening on the border with Mexico already smacks of a serious constitutional crisis. The issue of the relationship between the rights of states and the federal government has been very acute several times in US history. Ever since President Monroe’s Secretary of War, and then Vice President in the Andrew Jackson administration, the representative of slave-holding South Carolina, John Calhoun, defending the interests of the southern states from the encroachments of the northerners and challenging the possibility of limiting slavery on the territory of individual states, put forward the following in 1832 called the doctrine of nullification. According to it, a state should have the right to suspend the operation of any federal law on its territory that is contrary to the US Constitution, as it understands it. The theory of individual states’ rights, put forward by Calhoun, played an important role in the evolution of the conflict between the North and the South, which then led to the Civil War,” Russian historian Georgy Bovt comments on what is happening.
