Tests should also determine how much virus a person carries, says Senator and critic of mandatory veils Jan Žaloudík – ČT24 – Czech Television

“Positivity to covid does not mean that I will close the company because of it. (Test) PCR should be done quantitatively because a bag of apples and a wagon of apples are two different amounts of apples. It is necessary to see how many viruses are in whom and if they have any symptoms, “said senator and oncologist Jan Žaloudík, who does not hide his conviction that he considers some steps taken by the government during the pandemic to be exaggerated.

“Why are we targeting this virus so dramatically, where we have 400 deaths in half a year?” He remarked. At the same time, however, he admitted that the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES) must rely on the advice of experts, but “covid experts are not much educated, because we are in it for the first time”.

The former dean of the Medical Faculty of Masaryk University is also critical of the veils. He emphasized that they could not be considered a crucial and absolute tool for protection against viral infections. “I don’t attack veils. I challenge belief in veils as a fundamental solution to the problem. I ask why our epidemiologists have not dealt with these things in the past years, “pointed to Žaloudík, referring to the fact that veils did not start to be worn due to measles, mumps or the annual flu.

According to him, the minister’s advisers are betting on veils mainly because they do no particular harm. “They want to be sure, there’s a responsibility, a bit of alibis. When you introduce drapes, you do not spoil anything, because if the disease does not come to some extent, it is said that it is the introduction of drapes, when it appears in Horní Lhota, then it is said that it is because they did not follow there and that is the reason for further measures, “he said.

At the same time, he offered another means for perfect protection from the environment: “If someone wants to be sealed a lot, we still have gas mask warehouses.”

However, Jan Žaloudík also questioned that wearing veils was completely without side effects. “Try putting a veil on the car exhaust for a while. Then, first of all, analyze what will be in it, and secondly, try how the car will go for you, “he likened.

On Thursday, Minister Adam Vojtěch changed the recently announced measure, according to which veils will be mandatory in some places from 1 September. He exempted restaurants, shops and also school corridors, leaving her on public transport or in offices. For this, he faced criticism from the opposition for his lack of conception and calls for resignation.

However, Jan Žaloudík did not join the opposition politicians. “I like Minister Vojtěch. He is among the millstones. We must take an international context, a situation in the world that is also special. I think he is doing what he can, “says a senator representing a smaller governing party in the upper house.

He means that “the situation will be exactly the same if you replace him with anyone.” Nevertheless, the Plaintiff also has reservations about the manner of promulgation and amendment of the regulation. “I would consider it, I would discuss it and announce measures, for example at the end of September. I see no reason why so quickly, “he recommended.
