Testing the Ability of the Vivo X50, Not Just a Camera Champion

Being the number one smartphone brand in the first quarter of 2020, Vivo Indonesia is motivated to increase its ammunition. Medio July 2020, I live X50 and the X50 Pro was released as a flagship product.

Vivo X50 appears with an elegant design that seems compact. The rear body uses metal material, cementing its identity as a flagship phone. The device we tried was painted froze blue, a combination of light blue with silver gradations that look shiny.

At the bottom there is a single speaker on the right side and a USB Type-C port in the middle. The 3.5mm audio jack is absent on the Vivo X50. But that’s not a big deal, because Vivo includes an audio port adapter for using a wired headset in the sales package.

On the back of the cellphone, there are four lenses from the AI Quad Camera which are mounted parallel to the bottom along with a flashlight. How is the camera capable? Later we will explain the details below.

As an illustration, the size of the device I live X50 namely 159.5 mm long, 75.4 mm wide, and 7.55 mm thick. These dimensions make the cellphone relatively comfortable to hold and easy to operate with one or two fingers (usually with the thumb). Visual affairs lean on the 6.56-inch AMOLED screen to produce rich and sharp colors. The 90 Hz screen refresh rate on the Vivo X50 is a plus. Screen transitions when scrolling social media or browsing websites look smooth and responsive.

The punch hole front camera is embedded in the upper left side of the screen, small in size so it doesn’t interrupt the view when opening full screen on YouTube or playing games. The fingerprint sensor is located in the lower center area of the screen, so it is more suitable to use your thumb for authentication.

Camera

Once you open the camera menu, it is as if the user is brought into the creation room. The features for photos and videos are diverse, making even ordinary people challenged to be creative in making photos and videos.

The main camera is 48 MP, accompanied by an 8 MP Super-Wide Angle camera, an 8 MP periscope lens with 2x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom, and an 8 MP portrait camera. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MP.

In accordance with the lenses attached, users can make bokeh photos with an aperture option of up to f / 0.95. Then there is a super wide mode to get a wider viewing angle, and a super macro mode for detailed photos. There is an Extreme Night Vision feature to improve the quality of image lighting at night.

In addition, Vivo provides several other features, such as Pro Sports for capturing moving objects, panoramic photos, and a special mode for document photos and presentations.

The video features are also abundant. There is a Smart Zoom to read and follow the movement of objects to stay in the center of the frame. There are also slow motion and time lapse features on the camera I live X50.
