Testimony of Passengers Surviving Bus Accident in Ciamis, Thought The Driver Was Joking About Blong Brakes

CIAMIS, KOMPAS.TV Passengers who survived the Pandawa Bus accident in Ciamis, West Java thought the driver was joking when they told him about the brake failure and it turned out to be true.

This statement was made by Nana Suryana, 32, one of the survivors who was sitting right next to the driver before the incident.

According to Nana, who suffered minor injuries to her face and arms, before being declared failed, the brakes could still be used normally.

However, he continued, when the bus was about to enter Jalan Panjalu, the driver stated that the bus brake had failed.

“When the distance from Panjalu was about 1 kilometer, the brakes just failed. Well, I thought the driver was joking, it turned out to be true,” said Nana as reported by the Journalists. Compass TV Dede Ibin, Saturday (21/5/2022) night.

In fact, Nana said that the driver and passengers panicked when they found out that the brakes failed while the road they were facing had entered a steep path.

“(All) panicked and the driver was trying to find a place to dump because the track was very steep,” he said.

However, he continued, the accident was unavoidable after the bus swerved to the left and then to the right of the road.

In her testimony, Nana said that the first vehicle hit by the Pandawa Bus was a minibus or an elf.
