Break or SUV: who has the biggest trunk space? Our car connoisseur is looking for it per brand and explains why we should not underestimate a ‘station wagon’

It was once popularly referred to as an ‘all-terrain vehicle’. The marketing boys of the car brands invented the hipper ‘Sports Utility Vehicle’. Today, this SUV is by far the most popular car type in our country, as it is in all of Europe. A popularity that has come at the expense of the break or ‘station wagon’. One of the arguments with which enthusiasts justify their choice is the interesting trunk space. But does the SUV really have more luggage space than a station wagon, which by definition can only drive better? Our car expert Joost Bolle looked it up: “The estate has less status in general perception, but remains a very interesting choice.”
