Dashboard and controls
The interior of the peugeot 308 it is well made, has lots of storage and offers a strong visual impact. The dashboard is articulated: the concave central band amplifies the sensation of space, while a single and elegant grille in the upper part incorporates the “climate control” vents. The rich 10” dashboard is customizable (even with enlargements for the navigator map), but some writings are small and sometimes the “pop-up” with GPS indications covers the driving mode menu, making it impossible to change them. The 10” on-board services screen in the console can be configured and managed like smartphones. The i-Toggles on the underlying monitor are “clever”: they are customizable icons for quick access to the most used functions. The other controls are intuitive, including the gear lever in the tunnel and, next to it, the rocker switch for the driving modes (Eco and Sport).
Habitability
On board the peugeot 308there is no shortage of space. The Alcantara and imitation leather seats have pronounced sides and not too soft padding. Extendable thigh support, electric adjustments and even massage and heating functions are standard. The small steering wheel must be kept low so as not to cover the dashboard: with your arms further down, you get less tired on long journeys, but the driving position to be adopted is rather “forced” and not everyone is convinced. The sofa with the almost flat seat is comfortable and whoever is in the center is not sacrificed (the low tunnel does not get in the way with the feet). The cabinet houses two USB sockets, a compartment and the “climate” diffusers.
Trunk
Easily accessible from the large tailgate, the trunk of the peugeot 308 it is roomy: 412 litres, which grow to 1323 by folding the sofa. The carefully finished compartment is equipped with a storage net and load retaining eyelets. The backrest of the sofa is equipped with a through hatch for skis or other long objects; folding it, a step of 12 cm is formed. Plenty of space under the hatbox: you can carry two rigid “suitcases” and other soft bags. The hi-fi subwoofer (standard) is housed under the boot floor. In the other versions, the same compartment can house the spare wheel.
