Talgo’s Avril train continues its tests in Galicia. The train that Galicia is waiting for to shorten the time at high speed is testing today on the tracks of A Coruña and Santiago, as Talgo sources confirmed to this digital newspaper. At night, they add, the train will travel to Vigo to continue testing there.
In view of the weekend, between 23 and 26 September, tests will take place on the Ourense-Santiago line, as confirmed for this vehicle by Adif and by Talgo itself.
These tests, Adif specify, will be carried out at night, between 00:00 and 05:00, and are the pace before its commissioning with a maximum commercial speed of 330 kilometers per hour.
In the same month, Talgo carried out tests on this train, also on this high-speed line between Ourense and Santiago, coming to register at Iberian gauge speed record in Galicia reaching 360 kilometers per hour. A record that is essential for Avril trains arrive in the community after more than 20 months of delays.

Renfe is still waiting for the trains to be delivered
For their part, Renfe’s sources say they continue to hope that Talgo provide them with the final delivery schedule for these vehicles. “The company continues with its tests but has not yet approved the trains. The approval process is linked to operational safety and, therefore, it is not an easy process in a completely new train that will travel up to 330 km/h in fixed width and variable width,” Renfe sources say.

High-speed train traffic in Spain increased in August, according to the latest monthly bulletin released by Adif, the public company that manages the network.
