In the city
The Hyundai Kona 1.6 HEV it gives its best in urban centers: it has small dimensions to slip through traffic and a “full” hybrid system that allows you to pollute and consume little: on average, we traveled 19.2 km with a liter of petrol. If needed, then, the camera snaps with a certain panache. The rear distance sensors are precious when maneuvering (standard, the rear view camera is in the Techno Pack).
Out of town
On winding roads, the car offers a pleasant drive. In addition to the lively thrust of the engines, it is appreciated for the precise and direct steering and the remarkable road holding. The brake response is also excellent, one of the advantages of this crossover. Uphill and with flat batteries, however, the liveliness drops. With our instruments, we measured an average distance of 16.9 km / liter.
On the highway
Comfortable and safe, the Hyundai Kona HEV it has effective suspension in the corners and a little noisy 1.6. But in transfers at an almost constant pace, the possibility of recovering energy in the slowdowns offered by the hybrid system is reduced, and consumption is proportionally less favorable than in the city; not bad, however, the 14.3 km traveled with a liter of petrol at 130 km / h. The excellent recovery helps in overtaking.
