Fieldlab has received permission from the cabinet to scale up. This means that more people are allowed to attend the upcoming events. In this way, the organization wants to see whether the measures also work with an increased visitor capacity.
The most large-scale event so far is 538 Orange Day at the Chasséveld in Breda: this will be open to ten thousand visitors. On April 24 they can watch performances by artists such as Snollebollekes, Davina Michelle, Chef’Special and DI-RECT. Because no major events are allowed on King’s Day, 538 Orange Day will take place the weekend before.
At the 3FM Awards on Thursday, April 15, fifteen hundred people may be present instead of a thousand. Other events include the Racoon concert on May 7 (3,500 people) and a test event will be organized in a nightclub in Amsterdam on May 15, which can be attended by a thousand people. Details about this are not yet known.
The number of people allowed to attend the shows of the Eurovision Song Contest is 3,500. This was announced at the beginning of April by outgoing minister Arie Slob (Media).
Visitors must also test themselves afterwards
“It is great that we can do these upscaling tests, where we can test previously acquired knowledge with higher visitor numbers”, says Marcel Elbertse, chairman of Fieldlab Events.
“We are well aware that this is an absolute privilege, especially with a look at the current epidemiological picture, where easing is not yet forthcoming. However, this new research is essential for the second phase of Fieldlab Events.”
People with a ticket for one of the upcoming trial events must get a quick test no more than 24 hours before the start of the events. A negative test gives access to the concert or event. A second rapid test will be taken five days after the event. Vulnerable groups are excluded from participation.
