Italy’s Fiorano circuit, the mecca of Ferrari. There, he was invited to ride in an ultra-supercar with over 1,000 horsepower.
This is the first time a Bugatti has made over 1,000 horsepower since its test drive in the Top Speed Challenge a few years ago. If you think about it simply, there are 1,000 horses stored on the driver’s back.
This time we tested the SF90XX Stradale, the fastest car in Ferrari history. The origin of this name is actually interesting.
SF90 is the model name of the 2019 F1 machine, and XX is a support program for high-end users who participate in Ferrari races and enjoy circuits.
And the last word, Stradale, means public road. In summary, it has F1 DNA, was developed to enjoy the circuit, and is the fastest car in Ferrari history that can also be driven on public roads.
I thought I was lucky to be driving the fastest Ferrari on such drool-inducing public roads, but I was also feeling a lot of pressure. After all, it was my first time driving a supercar with over 1000 horsepower.
However, driving in such a way that dragonflies perch on the rear spoiler is embarrassing for a Japanese driver. He told himself to concentrate and attack so that Arama wouldn’t kick him.
The engine is a 4L, V8 turbo that produces approximately 800 horsepower. In fact, this machine is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), so it can be called an eco-car, but the V8 turbo is still the main driver.
One motor is mounted between the engine and gearbox, and two independent motors are placed on either side of the front axle.
As a result, the maximum output of the motor reaches 233 horsepower, which means a total of 1030 horsepower when combined with the engine.
A total of three motors are powered by a lithium-ion battery, and the car can run 25km in EV mode, without your neighbors complaining about how noisy it is. By the way, the maximum speed for EV driving is 135km/h.
