For those awaiting Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, the new installment in the Test Drive Unlimited racing series, there is good news. It looks like the game will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles within two months, no later than Sunday, March 31, 2024. Publisher Nacon in its latest income statement announced that the massive arcade racing game will be released in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year, 13 years after the release of Test Drive Unlimited 2.
The last time we saw Solar Crown in an official capacity was in the Racer trailer, which dropped in mid-December. During the teaser, we were shown the stunning Corvette C7 ZR1, as well as the huge amount of customization available for it. The use of in-engine footage suggests that developer KT Racing is confident in its project, and considering how good Hong Kong Island looks, you can see why.
Solar Crown, announced at Nacon Connect back in July 2020, was first delayed in May 2022. In July 2023, it was postponed again. The fruits of the studio’s labor were enjoyed at least briefly by those who were lucky enough to get into the closed beta testing that same month.
