After offering you the test of its little brother, aka the 2500X (available ici), the Corsair brand sends us its big brother, the 6500D Airflow. This case offers a similar design with a compartmentalized chassis in particular. For now, what is this version worth? ATX ? Answer in our test without further ado.
The exterior of the 6500D Airflow:
With case, the Corsair brand offers us a rather imposing mid-tower reference. Due to its particular design, the case is rather wide at 328 mm. In terms of length and depth, this model remains below the 50 cm mark: 481 (L) x 496 (H) mm. However, what is shocking here is the weight, count 16.9 kg empty. It must be said that this model uses particularly thick steel parts on its front as well as on the top, a part that can be replaced as we will see later.

In terms of sign, we find a sober box with a grid mesh on the front surrounded by black painted steel parts. Note that this model is also available with a tempered glass front called 6500X.
In terms of price, we find the case at an average price of €195 in stores. Clearly, it is expensive and positions it in the high-end sector.
The control panel:
Just like its little brother, the 6500D Airflow has its control panel placed on top of the case. The latter will be functional and highlights:
- A button reset
- Four ports USB-A 3.2 Gen1
- And USB-C 3.2 Gen2
- A 3.5 mm headset jack
- One power button
Once again, we find a perfectly functional panel with a large number of ports USB-A. However, motherboards with two headers USB 3.0 are quite uncommon. The trick to taking advantage of all the connectivity is to use an adapter USB 3.0 -> USB 2.0.
The bottom:
Under the case, we find the design compartmentalized with a solid part on the left and a grid on the right. All four feet have rubberized pads providing strong grip. Given the weight of the case, it clearly risks being annoying for assembly, you will have to lift it to turn and turn it around. Finally, we notice the presence of a long dust filter under the component part.
The rear:
At the rear, we have an unusual layout. On the left side, at the top, there is a first grille held by a hand screw. The latter hides the hard drive cage as well as the two baskets it contains. Just below, vertically, we have the power supply location.
On the right part, we start by mentioning the presence of a first grid in the upper part followed by the location I/O Shield of the motherboard in addition to a 120/140 mm fan slot. Just below, we find eight openwork expansion slots with a very small Velcro strip at the bottom. It will be used for plating the various cables.
The top :
On the top of the case we have on one side a grille mesh located above the component part. The storage/feeding part for its part benefits from a solid steel part.
